Auntie’s books and journals started as outlets for her own creativity. Her first books were personal journal with open coptic bindings. Later, a bookbinding friend mentioned that some of Auntie’s (odd, strange) photography would make nice endpapers. Building on her basic bookbinding skills with a master bookbinder, she created the “Brown Paper & …” line of little book. Her love of nature, texture, tiny things, and the weird influence her designs. Each “Brown Paper & …” book is unique, an individual design and work of art.
“Brown Paper & …” Journals are made from repurposed grocery bags, paper (varies by journal type), string (hemp or cotton), embroidery floss, beeswax.
